School brought them both to Wyoming but love has kept them here.
After crossing paths on campus at the University of Wyoming they became casual friends. After a 14-hour car ride together, they took turns navigating and driving, all the while talking, laughing, listening to music, and stealing glances across the car…. They soon realized that there was something special about the person sitting next to them and in short order, Shane and Claudia started dating. Two adventurous souls that were a perfect pair. Together they embarked on countless road trips to visit family, exploring, and attending their favorite concerts, satisfying their love for good food along the way.
Eventually, Their travels took them to the Steamboat Ski Resort in Colorado for a few days of skiing and snowboarding. It was mid-morning as the pair sat on the ski lift waiting to hop off and venture down the snow-covered slopes of Mount Werner. As they reached the top, Shane knew that this was the day. He was no longer going to have to carry around that small box in his pocket waiting for the perfect moment. This was the perfect moment. Their perfect moment.
They jumped off the lift and took a moment to take in the incredible views. Snow covered peaks and white tipped pines stretched out before them. It was there that Shane got down on one knee and asked Claudia to be his wife. She was completely shocked, “What?” she said. After she came to the realization that this was really happening, she took off her ski gloves and with tears rolling down her face she said “Yes!”
Newly engaged, they skied to the bottom of the mountain and immediately went to share the exciting news with their friends and family.
They are planning a summer wedding in the mountains near their new found home of Laramie, Wyoming.
