They met in high school.  Friends of friends attending different schools, small town rivals.  He invited her to his wrestling match. Olivia giggled with her girlfriends in the bleachers as the handsome boy from the rival school stole glances her way. After the game, she didn’t stick around to chat.  Instead, her shy self left in a hurry, no time for the boy from across town.

It wasn’t until years later that two souls wandering the halls of the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie happened to slip into each other’s paths.  Again they were just friends of friends and it took years of friendship before they realized there was something special between them.  Perhaps it was her smile or beautiful soul that drew Jake to Olivia, but soon enough the pair was inseparable. And that was that, they fell in love.

Then over Christmas, on a beautiful winter night with falling snow and the glow of Christmas lights, Jake asked Olivia to be his wife. They celebrated together with their families and the holiday was made all the more sweet and joyous.

For their engagement session we headed to Jake’s family ranch house in Thermopolis Wyoming with their gorgeous golden-doodle Sophie.  We took photographs all around the historic barn and outbuildings before heading in to Hot Springs State Park for an incredible sunset.

I truly love these images as they showcase the beautiful Wyoming landscape parallel to the love and connection these two share.  I’m so honored to tell their beautiful love story!
