It was going to be the perfect proposal.
A bonfire, family, friends, the sunset, and breathtaking views…. It was going to be perfect. At least, it was supposed to be until one important detail didn’t show up on time… the ring.
Booker decided to hold off on asking Ali to be his wife until her ring arrived. The day of the bonfire came and as they laughed, chatted and cuddled around the bright orange flames, she asked Booker when he was going to propose.
You see, Ali already had the suspicion that it was going to happen soon. Unknowingly, her Dad tipped her off that Booker had something up his sleeve in the near future. So when she couldn’t bear it any longer and asked, Booker revealed his romantic plan of proposing that evening, but without the ring, he decided to wait so the moment would be unforgettable. She was smitten with his thoughtful plan but sweetly told him that she didn’t need a ring to call him her fiancé. Knowing this, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. With the warm bright fire reflecting in their eyes, she said yes. Her ring did eventually show up and it was absolutely worth the wait.
They plan to wed this summer with a lovely celebration near Laramie, Wyoming. Lovers of mountains, forests, and fall – it was only fitting that we head into the Snowies in Medicine Bow National Forest at the end of September for their Engagement session. When we arrived – the fog moved in quickly – covering up the mountain peaks and leaving us with mysterious and beautiful views. We skipped our way down the mountain stopping to shoot and explore at each place we found clear enough, Mirror Lake to Brooklyn Lodge to Sand Hill Road, and moving on once the fog found its way to us. It was beautiful and we were even surprised by a moose! The young bull was curious at first, but then decided he wanted nothing to do with us and wandered off down the stream. …ONLY IN WYOMING!
Ali & Booker,
Adventurous, down-to-earth, and FUN – I had a blast at your engagement session. Your compassion and kindness towards one another (also fixing each others hair…😍 😭) is rare and beautiful to witness and I’m beyond excited for your Tie Siding wedding next year! Till then – stay warm – and keep being so incredibly good to each other!
Love & appreciation, ~M
