Online dating can often lead to a series of unfortunate events. Alana was weary of this going into her first date with Dillon, who she matched with on (you guessed it!) Tinder. Terrified of a “Tinder disaster,” she was relieved when she met Dillon in person on April 1st, 2014. He was kind-hearted, patient, and thoughtful. Alana’s nervousness melted into contentment as she laughed the evening away with Dillon, neither of them wanting the date to end.

It didn’t take long for Dillon and Alana to fall in love. Their shared love of cribbage, camping under the stars, craft breweries, traveling the world, and outdoor adventures meant they had found the perfect match in one another. Together they moved to Evanston, Wyoming, and welcomed their dog, Murphy, into their home, to keep Alana company while Dillon was away hunting.

Before they knew it, five years had passed. Alana and Dillon had been discussing marriage for some time now, and they were beyond ready to be engaged. Dillon had been saving up for awhile, and together, they picked out the perfect engagement ring. Since it was special-ordered, Alana knew a proposal was coming, but had no idea when!

Weeks had passed and Alana was getting anxious, unable to contain her excitement. One Saturday, Dillon invited Alana to join him and Murphy on their daily hike. She agreed, and together they made their way to a hilltop overlooking the Bear River, with a backdrop of the Uinta Mountains. It was here that the moment Alana had been dreaming about finally arrived. Dillon got down on one knee, ring in hand, and asked Alana to be his wife. She couldn’t say yes fast enough!

I had so much fun capturing Alana and Dillon’s engagement session. We started at Coal Creek TAP in Downtown Laramie and ended by watching the sunset in Medicine Bow National Forest. With the addition of brews, games, and their pup Murphy, their love and sweet personalities shine through in these images!

Dillon & Alana,
Thank you for letting me document this beautiful step you’ve taken in your journey together. It was such a joy to get to know you both during your engagement session.  It is easy to see that together you two are beautiful, compassionate, and FUN! I hope you come back to visit Laramie so we can share another craft beer soon! 🙂
Love & Appreciation, ~M
